The Ministry is made up of six (6) Departments, each headed by a Director answerable to the Permanent Secretary.
There is an Internal Audit Unit, under the supervision of the Permanent Secretary.

Department of Industries and Investment

The Department of Industries and Investment is saddled with the responsibility of promoting industrial and investment activities in the State.

Department of Trade

The Department is responsible for co- coordinating and promoting all commercial activities in the state. The Department also ensures and helps in the formulation and implementation of trade policies in the State.

Department of Cooperatives

The Department is responsible for mobilization of Cooperatives, registration, enlightenment, supervision, inquiry, auditing, arbitration, manpower development, liquidation and other related functions.

Cooperative Societies are well known for their significant contributions to the socio-economic and cultural developments of communities where they exist globally. In recognition to the indispensable role of Cooperatives, the Department of Cooperatives is saddled with the statutory role of formulating inclusive government polices and programmes as enshrined in the Nigeria Cooperative Societies Act 90 (2004) as amended.

The Department has six (6) Units which comprises of the following:

  2. Audit and Inspection Unit, headed by Musa A. Ambi
  3. Research and Training Unit, headed by Dagusa J. Samuel
  4. Women in Cooperatives Unit, headed by Mrs Gloria Boyi
  5. Nasarawa state apex Unit, headed by Illiya M. Kuje
  6. Non-Governmental and Community Base organizations Unit, headed by Ismaila Mohammed

Department of Administration and Supplies

The Department is responsible for processing of Staff documents in respect of annual leave, annual increment, promotion, disciplinary cases, in-service training permanent/pensionable appointment, confirmation of
appointment, office sanitation, etc.

Department of Planning, Research and Statistics

The Department is saddled with the responsibility of formulating policy and planning for the Ministry, monitoring and evaluation of all economic sectors of the Ministry, ensuring proper documentation and storage of data, information storage/dissemination, preparation and processing of budget estimates, coordination of skill capacity building for Staff of the Ministry, liaison with appropriate outside agency for necessary linkage and follow ups as regards assistance on project research and monitoring of all contracts works in the Ministry.

Department of Finance and Accounts

The Department is responsible for handling all financial matters
of the Ministry.
